Job summary

Macdonald & Company is seeking a senior finance executive to serve as VP Finance / Controller for its New York portfolio of development projects and operating assets. Based in New York City, you will lead day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and controls across corporate and project levels, working closely with ownership and senior leadership.

You will oversee budgeting, treasury, tax, lender reporting, and the evolution of financial systems and processes, mentoring a growing finance team

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of relevant experience in real estate finance and accounting.
• Experience with development accounting, project-level reporting, and cost controls.
• Leadership of finance teams and interaction with senior executives.
• Bachelor's degree required; CPA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee corporate, property and development accounting across projects.
• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
• Maintain financial controls and procedures across entities.
• Oversee construction draws, budgets, and cost reporting.
• Coordinate tax compliance and lender reporting.
• Partner with ownership and senior leadership on strategic planning.
• Develop and mentor finance team.
