A leading company in factory automation systems is seeking a VP of Finance for After Sales & Service. The role involves strategic financial management, oversight of compliance, and leadership of a finance team. Candidates should possess extensive finance experience, ideally in regulated sectors, and a CPA designation, along with strong leadership and communication skills.
The VP, Finance – After Sales & Service acts as the finance business partner to President, After Sales & Service by driving & supporting strategy development & execution, AOP (all value drivers), process/ control/ governance, risk management, development of leadership & team culture with ABM as our framework. The preferred individual will have experience in a highly regulated global, enterprise organization and be commercially astute, collaborative and able to work in a decentralized and matrixed organization. This role will be remote and can be based in either the U.S. or Canada with an expectation of up to 20% travel within North America and Europe.
• Drive financial value by supporting execution of strategy & AOP, including capital deployment (“make vs. buy”) decisions, continued understanding of ROI / ROIC, value drivers, KPIs and leading the use of our ABM.
• Drive additional value creation by making impactful decisions around capital deployment, revenue recognition frameworks and contributing to the President’s strategic decision making, and by supporting change management initiatives in coordination with the leadership team.
• Oversight of financial close processes, operational reporting (MBR, etc.), governance/ compliance (including continuous review of what’s working/ what’s not).
• Build critical relationships with finance and business leaders to support strategy and drive joint value creation across ATS.
• Responsible for developing key partnerships with internal stakeholders with varying levels of engagement to expand capability and capacity to effectively execute.
• Work with local leadership to align targets and drive profitable growth.
• Lead a finance team of eight reports through goal deployment and priority setting and facilitate training and coaching for the broader after sales and service team to execute on Value Drivers and ensure consistent team adherence to governance and compliance expectations.
• Responsible for adhering to established ATS practices and policies related to financial reporting and compliance while continually challenging process to drive efficiencies and reduce waste.
• Operates with a high level of autonomy under limited supervision and direction.
• Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
• Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.
Education:
A post-secondary diploma or degree specializing in accounting, finance or equivalent. A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
Experience:
• Management experience leading a team of direct reports in a global environment.
• A minimum of 10 years of finance experience in a highly regulated industry such as manufacturing, automation or technology.
• Expert in project costing systems with hands on experience in designing and managing new business systems.
• Diversified academic foundation and experience base which allows for viewing the big picture while understanding the operational and implementation challenges and opportunities.
• Experience base should include; Risk Management; Mergers and Acquisitions; Financial Reporting; Treasury and Regulatory Compliance – US and Canada; Project and Contracts Management; Supply Chain and Business Processes; Information Technology; Change Management; SOX compliance; IFRS and Lean Manufacturing.
• Experience in a highly matrixed organization, exceptional communication skills and strong demonstrated ability to influence without authority required.
• Have a growth mindset capable of growing a business and establishing processes and procedures accordingly.
