We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Facilities and Real Estate to oversee our corporate office facilities, manage sub-tenant relationships, support distribution center operations, and conduct periodic real estate portfolio analysis and negotiations. This leadership role requires strategic vision, exceptional management skills, and the ability to drive operational excellence.
What you'll do:
- Corporate Office Facilities Management:
- Oversee maintenance, operations, and strategic planning of corporate office facilities in downtown Manhattan.
- Ensure all facilities meet high standards of safety, security, and functionality.
- Develop and manage the budget for office operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with external vendors and service providers, maintaining strong relationships.
- Lead initiatives to improve space utilization, sustainability, and employee experience.
- Sub-Tenant Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with sub-tenants, ensuring their needs are met promptly.
- Negotiate and manage sub-tenant agreements, resolving issues as they arise.
- Engage with landlords to address property-related issues and maintain good relationships.
- Coordinate with legal and finance teams to ensure lease compliance.
- Real Estate Portfolio Analysis and Negotiation:
- Analyze Macmillan's real estate portfolio regularly to identify opportunities for optimization.
- Lead negotiations for leases, renewals, and transactions.
- Support ad hoc real estate needs across the organization, including affiliates.
- Collaborate with finance and executive teams to align real estate strategy with business goals.
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and mentor facilities and real estate teams, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Develop and implement training programs.
- Set performance goals and provide feedback.
- Collaborate with brokers to support property acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing activities.
- Hybrid Work and Travel:
- Manage a hybrid work schedule, balancing in-office and remote work.
- Travel occasionally to Virginia and the UK to support local teams and facilities.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Real Estate, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in facilities and real estate management, with 5+ in senior leadership.
- Proven experience managing corporate facilities, sub-tenant relationships, and distribution centers.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills in real estate portfolio management.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
This role offers an annual salary of $210,000 - $225,000.
