Job summary

CREA, LLC is seeking a VP / Senior Data Engineer to lead the enterprise data platform across Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure SQL, and ETL/ELT pipelines. This hands-on leadership role requires guiding governance, data modeling, and secure data delivery to stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has 9+ years in data engineering or BI, strong leadership, and experience modernizing data workloads on Azure and Fabric, with a focus on reliability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/IS/Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 9 years of professional experience in data engineering, BI, analytics, or data platform management.
• Strong experience with Power BI report development and platform management.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure SQL/SQL Server.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, modernization, and support of enterprise data platforms on Azure and Fabric.
• Define data architecture standards for ingestion, storage, and semantic modeling.
• Design Fabric Data Lake/Factory pipelines and semantic models per requirements.
• Guide migration from on-prem SQL Server workloads to Azure SQL and Fabric.
• Evaluate performance, cost, and reliability of data services.
• Lead Power BI reporting, dashboards, and datasets for executives and operations.
• Govern Power BI/Fabric workspaces, deployment pipelines, security, and refresh.
• Establish data modeling and naming standards; implement security and lifecycle controls.
• Build reusable ETL/ELT pipelines and data integrations.
• Create ingestion/transform processes for structured and semi-structured data.
