Job summary

iCapital Network is seeking an outstanding Data Engineer to join the Data and Analytics team to build scalable infrastructure that makes data a central part of the business and supports data-driven decisions. The role requires experience with open-source tech, Python/JVM languages, AWS, and diverse databases.

You will design data models, pipelines, and ingestion components for the data lake and data warehouse, and collaborate daily with product and sales to drive growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, statistics or related field.
• 8+ years of experience with open-source technologies or OO/FP programming, high-quality scalable code.
• Experience with Python/pandas or similar numeric frameworks.
• Familiar with OLAP/OLTP databases (Redshift, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with various DB designs (Relational, Columnar, NoSQL).
• Background in probability/statistics.
• Detail-oriented, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Independent worker and strong team player.
• Passionate about programming and modern tech.
• Master’s degree preferred in CS/DS or related field.
• Experience with Python and JVM languages (Scala/Java/Kotlin) preferred.
• Experience building data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses preferred.
• Knowledge of financial markets and instruments preferred.
• Experience with AWS (Lambda, S3, Kinesis, ElastiCache) preferred.
• Familiar with infra-as-code (Terraform/CloudFormation) preferred.
• Familiar with handling of PII data for analysis.
• Full-time or internship experience in financial tech is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Leverage open-source technologies and cloud solutions to build features.
• Develop and automate large-scale, high-performance data platform infrastructure.
• Design reusable ingestion, cleansing, and data quality components.
• Streamline ingestion of raw data into Data Lake and Data Warehouse.
• Design data models for optimal storage and retrieval.
• Collaborate daily with sales and product teams to push FinTech strategy and profitability.
