Job summary

SMBC Group in Tralee, Ireland, is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer, VP to design and maintain security data pipelines that support monitoring, threat detection, incident response, compliance, and risk visibility across cloud and on‑prem environments.

You will work with application, infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to ensure critical telemetry is collected, validated, and available for operational and analytical use in a regulated financial services setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cybersecurity, data engineering, or related tech disciplines.
• Experience onboarding and validating security log sources in SIEM or cloud data platforms.
• Strong data parsing, normalization, and validation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data ingestion pipelines for security logs into SIEM and cloud services.
• Parse, transform, normalize, enrich, and validate log data (JSON/XML/CSV).
• Collaborate with teams to onboard telemetry sources and ensure end-to-end data collection.
• Monitor data quality and troubleshoot pipeline issues across cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Develop and maintain documentation on onboarding, data mappings, and configurations.
