Leading Fintech SMB lender is seeking a VP of Analytics to own the analytics agenda for profitable growth in their small-business lending business. You'll find ways to expand approvals, conversion and revenue while keeping credit losses within appetite. They need a leader who thinks about how to grow the business, not only how to reduce losses,
What you'll do
- Own the analytics agenda for profitable growth: expand approvals, conversion and revenue while managing credit losses within risk appetite.
- Find and size growth opportunities through credit-box and approval-rate expansion, risk-based pricing, loan-amount and line strategy, and renewals.
- Partner with Product, Finance, Sales and Underwriting on analytics and hypothesis testing. Build champion/challenger and A/B testing frameworks tied to unit economics and profit per funded deal.
- Work with Sales and Product to improve funnel conversion from lead to application to funding.
- Partner with Technology to put winning strategies into production.
- Deliver a clear view of portfolio health, with early-warning monitoring across underwriting, portfolio performance and collections.
- Own accurate loss and revenue forecasts that inform growth and investment decisions.
- Lead, develop and scale a global team of 7–10 analysts across onshore and offshore locations.
- Champion an AI-forward way of working, using AI tools and LLMs (e.g., Claude/Claude Code) to speed up analysis and decisioning.
What you'll bring
- 15+ years in Financial Services or FinTech credit and growth analytics, with a track record of growing a portfolio, approval rates or revenue while holding losses.
- A deep foundation in risk management analytics: underwriting, portfolio monitoring, collections and forecasting.
- 8+ years leading analysts, including onshore and offshore teams.
- A Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering or a related quantitative field.
- Hands-on skills in Python, SQL and Excel.
- An AI-forward mindset, with practical experience using AI tools and LLMs in analytics work.
- The ability to influence senior leaders and frame decisions in terms of growth, risk and unit economics.
Preferred
- Commercial or small-business lending experience (working capital, MCA, term loans, lines of credit).
- Concrete examples of approval lifts, revenue or profit gains achieved without raising risk.
- Experience with alternative and cash-flow data in underwriting.
