Our diverse project pipeline, multiple locations across the US, and unique multidisciplined team sets us apart.

We are a dynamic and innovative renewable energy industry company committed to excellence, collaboration, and driving positive change in our industry.

About The Role

The Vice President, Corporate Controller is a senior leader responsible for the integrity, scalability, and continued evolution of OneEnergy's accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal control environment. This role works strategically and collaboratively across company-wide functional teams including Finance, Systems, Delivery, Development, and Legal. The VP Controller leads and develops the corporate accounting team and serves as a key partner to the CFO, executive leadership, and the Board of Directors.

Success in this role requires the ability to build alignment across functions, advocate for foundational improvements, lead through change, and establish credibility through both technical expertise and strong interpersonal leadership. The ideal candidate will combine deep accounting knowledge with business acumen, emotional intelligence, and a genuine commitment to OneEnergy's mission.

  • Recruit, mentor, and scale the accounting team, building capacity ahead of continued company growth. Proactively identify where the accounting function needs to evolve to keep pace with rapid company growth, and partner with senior leadership to secure the resources and support needed to execute
  • Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems, close-process efficiency, reporting automation, and scalable business process. Drive accounting-function culture, quality standards, and change management across the team
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax filings in coordination with outside tax advisors and monitor emerging accounting guidance relevant to the solar and broader renewable energy industry
  • Serve as a key cross-functional voice and partner on the accounting and systems implications of new entities, contracts, and transactions, helping set the company up for operational success ahead of business changes
  • Maintain accounting system, banking, and payroll vendor relationships, including managing the software platform for each
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance. Ensure timely and accurate reporting for all legal LLCs by state. Lead and ensure timely annual audit and tax deadlines are met within all states where we hold economic nexus
  • Oversee processing of bi-monthly payroll through third‑party provider and administration of 401k submissions
Qualifications

  • Active CPA license required
  • Strong GAAP accounting knowledge and understanding, with proven ability to apply complex GAAP rules
  • Passion for utilizing technology to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of department’s work product
