Job summary

Metro Credit Union is seeking an experienced Vice President, Controller to lead the accounting function and a team of eight professionals. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and provide meaningful insights to support executive and Board decisions.

You will partner with the CFO, auditors, regulators, and Board committees, guiding liquidity management, investments, and ALM while driving process improvements and responsible use of AI tools where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Significant accounting leadership experience within a financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and work with executive leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA and/or master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting function and manage a team of eight accounting professionals.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting with strong internal controls.
• Partner with CFO, executives, auditors, regulators, and Board committees on financial matters.
• Support investment accounting, liquidity management, and asset-liability management.
• Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems and technology, including AI adoption where appropriate.
