Job summary

BMO Capital Markets is seeking a VP, Business Control Assurance to lead a risk-based, first-line assurance program across its Capital Markets operations. You will manage design and operating effectiveness testing, supervise teams, and escalate material findings while ensuring audit-ready documentation and governance alignment.

The role reports to the MD, Control Assurance within Governance and Controls and requires extensive experience in financial services, risk management, and regulatory

Qualifications

• 7+ years in financial services, capital markets or risk/controls.
• Experience leading control testing lifecycle.
• Knowledge of internal control frameworks.
• Experience presenting testing outcomes to senior management.
• Experience with governance, risk and compliance platforms.

Responsibilities

• Translate assurance strategy into executable testing plans.
• Lead end-to-end testing lifecycle, including design and operating effectiveness.
• Coordinate with governance, risk and audit stakeholders.
• Provide senior management reporting and remediation follow-up.
• Maintain documentation for audit readiness.
