Job summary

Vale Group in Matthews, NC seeks an experienced Vice President of Construction to lead a commercial, institutional, and industrial portfolio onsite. You will guide project executives from award through closeout with full accountability for division margin, staffing, and safety, reporting to the president.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years in the built environment and 7–10 years in executive construction leadership, with a strong financial acumen for forecasts and cash flow.

Qualifications

• Fifteen or more years in the built environment with delivery experience from award to turnover.
• Seven to ten years in leadership or executive construction roles.
• MEP or related specialty trade background preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in construction-related field preferred.
• Strong command of job costing, forecasting, cash position and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Direct the entire project delivery group with clear accountability.
• Own division profitability, forecasting, backlog, billing, and collections.
• Ensure safety, schedule, budget, and contract terms from turnover to closeout.
• Coach project executives and build future leadership bench.
• Serve as executive contact for owners, developers, and general contractors.
• Forecast staffing against backlog and allocate labor across teams.
• Partner with estimating and preconstruction on strategy and risk exposure.
