Job summary

Superior Choice Credit Union is seeking a Vice President of Commercial Lending to lead strategy, drive responsible loan growth, and strengthen relationships with members and the business community in Wisconsin and beyond.

You will oversee lending operations, pricing, product development, policy updates, portfolio management, underwriting, and vendor relationships, partnering with executives to execute on SCCU's goals while ensuring compliance and superior service.

Qualifications

• Five to eight years of commercial lending experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Previous financial institution and lending software experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of commercial lending products, pricing, underwriting, credit quality, portfolio management and regulations.
• Excellent leadership, resource management, project planning, communication and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with attention to detail and sound judgment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and lending-related systems.
• Commitment to delivering exceptional member and business-member experiences.

Vice President of Commercial Lending

We're looking for a Vice President of Commercial Lending who is passionate about leading strategy, building strong business relationships, driving responsible loan growth, and supporting the long-term success of SCCU's commercial lending program.

In this role, you'll provide strategic direction and oversight for commercial lending, including loan growth, pricing, product development, policy updates, portfolio management, underwriting, production, and third-party vendor relationships. You'll partner with executive leadership to develop and implement commercial lending strategies while ensuring lending activity supports SCCU's goals, compliance standards, and commitment to superior service.

What You'll Do

• Direct and monitor commercial lending operations across the organization to help SCCU meet established goals and objectives.
• Develop, propose, gain acceptance for, and implement commercial lending policies, programs, pricing, and strategy.
• Lead commercial loan product development, lending initiatives, and process improvements.
• Monitor product delivery, portfolio performance, loan data, credit quality, and lending trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure commercial lending activity complies with applicable regulations, policies, and organizational standards.
• Prepare department updates, reports, scheduling, budget input, and performance tracking for leadership review.
• Support lending program sales goals, member acquisition and retention efforts, and strong relationships with business members and community partners.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing lending culture that reflects SCCU's mission and values.

What We're Looking For

• Five to eight years of similar or related commercial lending experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent job-specific experience.
• Previous financial institution and lending software experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of commercial lending products, pricing, underwriting, credit quality, portfolio management, and applicable lending regulations.
• Excellent leadership, resource management, project planning, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
• Comfort using general office equipment, Microsoft Office, business software applications, and lending-related systems.
• Commitment to delivering exceptional member and business-member experiences while supporting SCCU's growth and service standards.
