Your Tasks:
This role will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing sales organization to support the launch of the company's first CAR T-cell therapy. They will develop and execute the company's strategy for establishing, optimizing, and expanding relationships with Authorized Treatment Centers (ATCs) to ensure seamless patient access and a strong commercial presence. This position will work cross-functionally with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Business Excellence, and Operations to shape engagement strategies and drive CAR-T adoption while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
This position will report to the Chief Officer, North America Biomedicine.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sales Leadership & Team Building
- Build, lead, and develop a best-in-class Cell Therapy Center Engagement team to support the successful launch and growth of the company's CAR-T therapy.
- Define team structure, hire key talent, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and execution.
- Establish and communicate a clear vision aligned with corporate objectives and launch strategy.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to ensure high performance and engagement.
Authorized Treatment Center Engagement & Commercial Strategy- Develop and execute strategies for engaging with authorized treatment centers, ensuring readiness for prescribing and administering CAR T therapy.
- Identify and prioritize key centers based on patient potential, geographic reach, and strategic importance.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, including physicians, hospital administrators, and pharmacy teams.
- Oversee onboarding and contracting processes to prepare centers for therapy launch.
- Represent the company as a thought leader in the cell therapy space, engaging with stakeholders and industry groups.
Market Development & Commercial Execution- Develop sales strategies and execution plans to drive adoption and broad access.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align on commercial priorities.
- Establish performance metrics, tracking systems, and reporting to measure progress and optimize engagement.
Launch Readiness & Operational Excellence- Ensure all efforts align with launch objectives for seamless access from day one.
- Drive collaboration to remove barriers to prescribing and patient treatment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, fostering a culture of ethics and integrity.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required; minimum of 15 years of leadership experience in sales or account management within pharmaceuticals, preferably in transplant, cell therapy, gene therapy, oncology, or rare diseases; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Leadership experience at a national level preferred; regional leadership with deep cell therapy or transplant experience considered.
- Proven experience launching scientific, high-touch therapies with institutional account management expertise.
- Experience leading institutional sales teams, engaging with all levels of hospital leadership, including formulary decision-makers.
- Success in building and leading high-performing sales teams, designing incentive plans, and surpassing sales targets in competitive environments.
- Deep knowledge of legal and compliance standards, with a strong culture of compliance and accountability.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (30-50%).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding of sales compliance guidelines (FDA, OIG, PhRMA).
- Ability to recruit, develop, and retain top sales talent; strong network in cell therapy or institutional pharma sales preferred.
- Strong collaboration skills across functions for aligned execution.
- Executive presence with excellent communication and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to align and support stakeholders internally and externally.
- Experience preparing for and executing successful drug launches, especially in cell and gene therapy or transplant.
- Ability to translate vision into actionable strategies, foster innovation, and drive results.
- Proactive in identifying improvements, adapting to market data, and implementing best practices.
- Foster a transparent, collaborative culture that values and empowers team members.
Physical Demands:
Regular walking, handling, reaching, talking, hearing; standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; lifting/moving up to 50 pounds; specific vision requirements; multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
Varied facilities, temperature-controlled home office, travel to customer sites, exposure to natural elements, handling research/clinical equipment with SOPs and PPE.
