Job summary

Citi is seeking a Blockchain Senior Java Engineer for the CIDAP platform in New York. You will design, develop, and deploy Web3 components, integrate with multiple blockchains, and author secure, efficient smart contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 10–15 years of software engineering experience, backend focus.
• 3–5 years in Web3 and blockchain development, incl. smart contracts.
• 8–12 years backend development with Java/Spring, Node.js, or similar.
• Proficiency with Web3 libraries such as Web3J/Web3JS/Ethers.js/Viem.
• Knowledge of blockchain fundamentals, token standards, crypto concepts.
• Experience with asynchronous programming, event-driven systems, and containers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy Web3 components and integrations for CIDAP.
• Build backend services interfacing with public and permissioned blockchains.
• Develop, test, and audit smart contracts (Solidity) for security and gas efficiency.
• Integrate Web3 libraries into enterprise Java/Node.js backends.
• Implement asynchronous, event-driven architectures for on-chain events.
• Collaborate with architects to design scalable Web3 infrastructure.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain technical docs.
• Support custody integration, tokenization frameworks, and DeFi/bridging components.
• Stay current with Web3 ecosystem and agile processes.
• Resolve cross-stack technical issues to ensure timely delivery.
