Job description

The Vice President, ART Greensboro is the senior site leader responsible for the successful operation and performance of a business unit generating more than $40 million in annual sales. The role provides integrated leadership across engineering, program management, production, quality, and supply chain. Reporting to the General Manager, Engineering Services, this leader translates business and customer priorities into coordinated operating plans and drives safe, compliant, high-quality, on-time, and financially disciplined execution. The role works in close coordination with the certification and FAA Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) functions to ensure technical and certification requirements are integrated into program planning, execution, and delivery. The site leader also coordinates and collaborates closely with AAR Engineering Services teams in Indianapolis and Singapore to align resources, capabilities, priorities, technical work, and program execution across locations and support work wherever it can be most effectively performed. The Controller retains functional ownership of accounting, financial controls, and financial reporting; however, the site leader is accountable for operational execution, achievement of the approved business plan, and site performance.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Provide overall leadership and accountability for ART Greensboro, including Engineering, Program Management, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and repair station operations.
  • Deliver the operating plan and business-unit objectives for safety, quality, schedule, cost, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, growth, and profitability.
  • Translate backlog, forecasts, and customer priorities into an integrated operating plan supported by appropriate capacity, resources, milestones, and performance measures.
  • Establish a disciplined management cadence to assess performance, remove constraints, manage risk, and drive corrective and recovery actions.
  • Direct end-to-end program execution from customer requirements and engineering release through production, certification, delivery, and program closeout.
  • Ensure Engineering is appropriately prioritized, resourced, and executed in accordance with technical, customer, regulatory, quality, and configuration-control requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Certification and ODA functions to integrate certification strategy, requirements, schedules, risks, and approvals into program execution.
  • Ensure Program Management maintains effective control of scope, schedule, budget, risk, change management, customer commitments, and recovery plans.
  • Own the strategy, capability, and performance of Production, with accountability for capacity, staffing, readiness, productivity, safety, quality, cost, and on-time delivery.
  • Oversee repair station performance and ensure operations comply with applicable FAA requirements, approved capabilities, the repair station manual, the quality system, and customer commitments.
  • Own site quality performance and the effectiveness of the quality management system, including regulatory and customer compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Lead Supply Chain performance, including sourcing, supplier performance, material availability, inventory management, procurement execution, and shortage mitigation.
  • Collaborate with AAR Engineering Services teams in Indianapolis and Singapore to align priorities, share capacity and expertise, and execute work across locations in support of customer and business needs.
  • Serve as the senior ART Greensboro interface for customers, providing accurate commitments, transparent performance reporting, early risk escalation, and decisive issue resolution.
  • Partner with the Controller on operating plans, forecasts, budgets, capital, and headcount. The Controller retains ownership of accounting, financial controls, and financial reporting, while the site leader remains accountable for business execution and results.
  • Build organizational capability through workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Represent ART Greensboro in leadership and business reviews and collaborate across AAR divisions, sites, and shared‑service organizations.
  • Leads managers and functional leaders across engineering, program management, production, quality, and supply chain. Responsibilities include workforce planning, hiring, training, work assignment, performance management, recognition, corrective action, employee development, and resolution of workplace concerns in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Need To Be Successful In This Role
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution required; advanced degree in engineering, business, operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of progressively responsible engineering, manufacturing, aircraft modification, or related technical operations experience, including significant leadership responsibility.
  • Strong experience leading aircraft cabin interior production operations is preferred, including planning and execution of fabrication, assembly, inspection, kitting, and delivery activities.
  • Demonstrated success leading a complex cross‑functional organization with accountability for technical execution, programs, production, quality, and supply chain performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage business performance through operating plans, forecasts, resource plans, metrics, risk management, and recovery actions.
  • Strong customer‑facing leadership, negotiation, communication, executive presentation, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Working knowledge of aviation quality and regulatory requirements; experience coordinating with FAA, ODA, EASA, or other certification organizations preferred.
