Job summary

JPMorganChase is hiring a Vice President, Applied AI and Machine Learning Lead in Payments Technology. You will own end-to-end document extraction and NLP initiatives, shaping data strategy, production deployment, and measurement.

You will stay hands-on while guiding architecture and working with product, engineering, data, risk, and compliance teams. The role emphasizes building scalable pipelines, developing novel NLP approaches, and delivering measurable business impact through trusted AI.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on applied artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• 5+ years of experience building and delivering applied machine learning or natural language processing solutions with measurable outcomes in production.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of document extraction and NLP solutions, from requirements through production rollout.
• Design scalable model pipelines for document ingestion, text extraction, classification, and ranking.
• Develop NLP algorithms to extract entities, relationships, and signals from text and documents.
• Define evaluation strategies and success metrics, including offline validation and online measurement.
• Establish model lifecycle practices including reproducibility, testing, monitoring, and drift detection.
• Partner with risk and compliance to ensure documentation, controls, and audit-ready processes.
• Drive technical decisions through design reviews and coding standards.
• Communicate tradeoffs and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
