Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking an experienced VP-level AI/ML Engineer for Compliance Engineering to design scalable GenAI-powered solutions for regulatory risk management. You will build end-to-end AI systems, work on embeddings, RAG pipelines, and agentic frameworks at massive data scale.

You will collaborate with compliance officers, legal teams, and other engineers to translate business requirements into robust, production-ready code, while mentoring junior staff and staying abreast of the latest

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or a similar field of study.
• 7+ years AI/ML industry experience for Bachelor’s/Masters, 4+ years for PhD with a focus on Language Models.
• Strong foundation in machine learning algorithms, including deep learning architectures (e.g., transformers, RNNs, CNNs).
• Proficiency in Python and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, scikit-learn.
• Demonstrated expertise in GenAI techniques: RAG, fine-tuning, prompts, AI agents, evaluation.
• Experience with embedding models and vector databases.
• Experience with MLOps: deployment, Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD, monitoring.
• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset.
• Mentoring experience and ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable end-to-end AI/ML solutions for compliance applications with GenAI, RAG, and embeddings.
• Explore model fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and agentic frameworks for business challenges.
• Develop, test, and maintain production-ready code.
• Lead projects from inception to completion and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with compliance officers, legal counsel, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and promote best practices for AI/ML development, version control, testing, and documentation.
• Stay current with advancements in AI/ML platforms, tools, and techniques.
