Job summary

J.P. Morgan Chase's Community Development Banking (CDB) team is seeking a Community Development Banker in Commercial Real Estate to support vibrant neighborhoods by providing loans, investments, and services for low- and moderate-income households and communities nationwide.

The role covers identifying debt opportunities, underwriting and closing CRE transactions for affordable multifamily housing, and collaborating with underwriting teams to ensure timely due diligence and proper credit

Qualifications

Five plus years’ experience in the affordable housing/low income tax credit industry.
Five plus years’ experience structuring, underwriting, closing, and administering CRE construction loans for affordable multifamily housing.
Demonstrated success serving clients in the affordable housing industry.
Understanding and knowledge of standard bank credit policies and loan administration procedures.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Valid driver’s license for periodic overnight travel.
Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

Identify and proactively pursue appropriate debt and deposit opportunities.
Assess transactional risk via knowledge of sponsor, financial, legal, construction management and market issues.
Represent the Bank in negotiation of credit terms and structure for complex transactions.
Work with underwriting team to insure timely due diligence and preparation of credit packages.
Coordinate with closing staff and legal counsel to ensure documentation is accurate and aligned with credit terms.
Communicate with loan administration to monitor construction progress and draw requests.
