The Voter Services Clerk serves as the primary customer service representative for the Seminole County Supervisor of Elections Office. This position is responsible for the accurate maintenance and entry of voter registration information, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of voter data, and providing essential assistance to voters, including answering inquiries and processing voter-related documents. The Clerk will also be involved in various clerical and administrative tasks associated with voter services, ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal election laws.
Responsibilities
- Process new voter registrations, updates or changes to existing registrations, vote-by-mail ballot requests, and returns, as well as petition verifications and other voter record-related tasks.
- Provide accurate voter registration and election information to the public in person, by phone, or via mail, in accordance with Florida state laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Conduct research to resolve issues related to voter registration records, utilizing sources both within the voter database and external government websites or online resources.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of voter registration records by verifying information.
- Validate signatures on candidate and initiative petitions.
- Maintain and update street maintenance files to ensure an up-to-date and accurate residential address database for Seminole County.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
- At least 1 year of clerical and data entry experience (3 years preferred), with a focus on computer usage in a customer service, public service, or office environment.
- Strong understanding of federal and Florida election laws, the elections office computerized voter registration system, and relevant data entry procedures (preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in a business office setting.
- Must be a registered voter in the State of Florida.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver license.

Terms of Employment
- Work Hours: The employee is expected to maintain regular office hours, with the understanding that these may adjust during election season. Overtime will be compensated according to federal laws.
- Work Schedule: The Voter Services Clerk is required to work a standard 40-hour week, excluding lunch breaks. Flex-time may be offered in accordance with policies set by the Supervisor of Elections (SOE) office. The employee must be available to work extended hours and weekends as necessary, with little to no prior notice. Overtime pay will be provided for hours worked over 40 hours in a given workweek.
