Job summary

The Outreach Team in Iowa is seeking a Canvass Manager to lead a large hourly staff and drive door-to-door voter outreach. You will train and supervise teams, set and track goals, and foster a culture of equity and inclusion across canvassing efforts.

This role requires hands-on leadership, ability to work long hours including evenings and weekends, and a commitment to rigorous training and staff development. The position supports statewide canvassing in Des Moines and Davenport areas.

The Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy PAC is going door to door to talk with Iowa voters about corporate polluter accountability, health care, big ag, affordability, and the 2026 election, including supporting Josh Turek for U.S. Senate, Rob Sand for Governor, and congressional candidates. We are mobilizing voters ahead of the November 3, 2026 midterm elections.

Canvass Management Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 15-20 hourly staff who will canvass door to door to talk to voters about defending reproductive rights


• Canvass yourself several days a week to train staff and drive office goals


• Set goals and hold staff accountable to them


• Train and provide ongoing motivation and support to staff


• Identify, promote, and train a leadership team


• Build a diverse team where staff feel respected while fostering a culture of equity and justice


• Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of the work


• Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all staff


• Develop strategic plans to reach targeted voters in assigned locations


• Manage administrative duties, including reporting data, record keeping, processing payroll, and distribution of materials

Qualifications

Must Have

• Leadership experience; ability to motivate, grow, and manage a large team

• Extreme attention to detail and a proven ability to instill that quality in others

Nice to Have

• Experience running paid canvasses or managing paid employees


• Familiarity with VAN and MiniVAN


• Experience working in underserved or marginalized communities


• Local knowledge/experience

Salary

The salary range for this position is $1,146 - $1,500 per week.
