Job description

Voter Access Associate

The New Hampshire Democratic Party is seeking a Voter Access Associate to support the 2026 voter access program. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about voting rights and committed to the mission of working to elect Democrats up and down the ballot.

The Voter Access Associate will be a key leader in the voter access program, helping to build and execute an innovative, data‑driven statewide plan to identify and address the barriers to casting a ballot in New Hampshire. This position will engage in work in each area of the voter access program’s work: election administration & advocacy; poll observation; voter assistance hotline, voter education, and volunteer recruitment. This position is a full‑time in‑person role based in New Hampshire.

Responsibilities
  • Work alongside the Voter Access Director and the voter access team to implement the voter protection plan.
  • Recruit, train, and engage volunteers to ensure we reach our coverage goals and make the volunteer experience fulfilling.
  • Develop expertise in voting processes and administration in your region.
  • Work with the Voter Access Team to develop, produce, and disseminate accurate voting information to voters.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with election officials, party leadership, campaigns, and other stakeholders in your region.
  • Support other aspects of the voter access program.
  • Report to the Deputy Voter Access Director.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • At least one cycle of experience in organizing on a campaign or with a voter protection program, or two years of experience in a legal‑, policy‑ or advocacy‑focused role.
  • An ability to build trust and strong relationships with volunteers, elections officials, and party officials – and an ability to exercise good judgment in knowing how to advance program goals while maintaining those relationships.
  • Proven time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in order to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated grace under pressure – thrives in a fast‑paced environment, is decisive, and maintains composure and teamwork skills under pressure.
  • A willingness to learn and help others grow professionally.
  • Commitment to electing Democrats up and down the ticket in New Hampshire.
Benefits & Compensation

This position has a salary of 5,000 per month and full benefits, including PTO as needed, health, dental, and vision insurance. The position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign and will require evening and weekend work over the course of the election cycle.
