The Sexual Violence Prevention Association (SVPA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing sexual violence systemically. We are looking for a volunteer to join our design team for 5 hours a week. This position is unpaid and fully remote. Scheduling is flexible, but a one-year commitment is preferred.

Position Description

  • Responsible for co-leading the creative and design strategy of the SVPA
  • Oversee art direction for our website, social media, print materials, presentations, and other designed assets
  • Co-Leading a design team of 4 people including three part-time designers who work 10-20 hours a week
  • Provide expert project management, feedback, guidance, and mentorship
  • Collaborate closely with your co-lead, web developer, and other team leads (i.e. research team or personnel team) within the organization on special campaigns or projects
  • Co-lead internal design meetings with designers, web specialists, and help to prioritize work among the team that aligns with deadlines and company-wide initiatives
  • Work closely with the CEO and other team members to create strong visuals and creative direction to promote our mission of preventing sexual violence systemically
  • Implement our brand; uphold our values via design including accessibility, diversity, and advocacy
  • Support fundraising efforts and assist the SVPA with other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of graphic design, visual design, or UX/UI experience
  • Knowledge and experience with Canva, UX/UI foundation, and Agile processes
  • Experience managing a variety of projects, people, scheduling meetings, meeting deadlines, and balancing needs
  • Preferred but not required: Experience with WordPress, Figma, HTML/CSS Coding, Clickup or other project management tools.

Structure & Flexibility

The SVPA conducts all work remotely with communication via Slack, email, and video conferencing. We occasionally have optional in-person meetings, conferences, and team building. Volunteers can create their own schedule and hours are flexible. We greatly value work-life balance and anti-professionalism.
