Job Summary

The Volunteer Selection Associate is responsible for screening and selecting qualified volunteers to serve on the Internet Evangelism English Language Team. This role ensures that volunteers are equipped to effectively engage with online visitors seeking spiritual guidance and support, while maintaining a high standard of volunteer readiness to support the ministry's mission of reaching people with the hope of the Gospel through digital outreach. This role is classified as an Associate position, defined as working no more than 19 hours per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial calls, application reviews, interviews, background checks, and reference reviews.
  • Maintain communication with applicants until they are approved or declined.
  • Maintain a file for each applicant to record interactions and outcomes throughout the vetting process and provide reports as requested.
  • Learn and maintain an in-depth understanding of Internet Evangelism’s technology tools and volunteer selection principles.
  • Evaluate ministry procedures and contribute ideas to improve the onboarding process.
  • Answer incoming calls and manage and monitor ministry emails and voicemails.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of high school diploma, with preference for Associate-level degree or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal discernment skills.
  • Comfortable conducting phone interviews.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Thrives in a team environment, but can still work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work efficiently to manage multiple projects at once.

Working Conditions
  • Work is typically performed in a cubicle in a conventional office environment.
  • Work is usually performed Monday‑Friday, between 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Occasionally work will be performed outside these hours.

Benefits

Associate or seasonal employees may work up to 19 hours a week (not to exceed 1,000 hours a year) and are not eligible for any benefits.
