The Disaster Accountability Project (DAP) is a leading nonprofit organization that provides long-term independent oversight of disaster management systems.

DAP engages a dedicated community to advance policy research and advocacy, promote transparency, and encourage public participation in oversight, community-based organizing, and discussions about disaster preparedness and relief.

Citizen oversight is essential to ensure resources for preparedness, relief, and recovery are effectively used, communities are engaged and resilient, and lessons learned are implemented to prevent repeating mistakes.
