Volunteer: Mentor/Consultant/Coach in Burlington County Areas

Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts of the USA is the preeminent organization for girls, with a current membership of 3.6 million girls and adults. Volunteers utilize their skills, expertise, and experiences to create engaging leadership opportunities for girls, inspiring them to achieve their personal best. Volunteers assist council staff in facilitating the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience through various program activities in leadership, self-esteem, financial literacy, travel, health/wellness, science, technology, engineering, and math. They can choose from flexible pathways—short-term or long-term, direct or indirect involvement, regionally, nationally, or internationally.

Responsibilities:

  • Mentor troop leaders as needed.
  • Assist volunteers with using GSLE program materials for their specific level.
  • Provide information on Council training and program opportunities.
  • Support volunteers in completing recordkeeping forms.
  • Attend monthly Service Unit meetings to assist leaders with level-specific questions.
  • Encourage new leaders to review their position descriptions.
  • Stay informed about and adhere to policies and guidelines of Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ (GSCSNJ) and Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA).
