Mission Statement

The National Council on Family and Domestic Violence (NCFDV), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is committed to empowering survivors of domestic violence and their children (ages 16 and older) by providing access to education, career development, and financial independence. Founded in 2011 by two siblings—both survivors—NCFDV seeks to break cycles of abuse by removing financial barriers and creating pathways to higher education, professional growth, and self-sufficiency. Through scholarships, free career training, and financial literacy programs, we equip survivors with the skills and resources necessary to rebuild their lives and achieve lasting independence.

Description
  • Education & Career Development: We offer free Google Career Certificates in high-demand fields such as UX Design, Project Management, IT Support, Cybersecurity, Digital Marketing, and Data Analytics. In 2024, 60 survivors successfully completed their certifications, equipping them with valuable skills to secure employment.
  • Higher Education Assistance: We cover the cost of admission application fees for survivors and their family members pursuing college or vocational training.
  • Financial & Entrepreneurial Training: Every other month, we provide financial literacy courses, business startup training, and life-coaching sessions for survivors in domestic violence shelters or those transitioning into independent living.
  • Dental Restoration for Survivors: Through our partnership with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry’s "Give Back a Smile" program, we fund application fees for survivors in the top 20 states most affected by domestic violence.
