Job description

Join to apply for the Volunteer: Greenthumb/Gardener/Landscaping role at West Place Animal Sanctuary.

Founded in 2007, West Place Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides lifesaving care, love, and a permanent home to farm animals rescued from abuse, neglect, and cruelty. It is also a licensed wildlife rehabilitation center that assists sick, injured, and orphaned animals, releasing healthy wildlife back into their natural habitats. Additionally, it serves as the lost dog shelter for Tiverton and Little Compton. The sanctuary has a network of over 75 volunteers providing essential animal care year-round, and offers hands-on humane education to students to foster compassion.

Shift Details

Any day of the week between 9-5.

Volunteer Responsibilities
  • Assist with gardening and landscaping tasks such as weeding, watering, planting, harvesting, and digging.
  • Work around animals like birds and pigs that roam freely.
  • Identify plants of various ages and sizes (preferred skill).
  • Perform chores like weed whacking, brush cutting, and chainsawing.
Qualifications

Experience in gardening and landscaping or willingness to learn is required. Open to all genders.
