Volunteer: Graphic Designer for Hedonisia Books - Covers & Illustrations

Hedonisia Hawaii EcoFeminist Community was started in 2004 in the Hawaiian rainforest. Our community was based on ecofeminism and ecotourism as our social and economic foundations.

Though our community was small, the projects we work on have a global reach. We are idealist and pragmatic seeking entrepreneurial and creative solutions to various challenges we face in the world.

In 2018, Hedonisia Hawaii was destroyed by lava flow from the Kilauea volcanic eruption. Undeterred, we continue work on the many creative projects that were born at our pre-volcano community.

There is a one-acre green zone on the property, that did not get covered by lava. This is known as a Kipuka in the Hawaiian language. We are preparing to return to our land by slowly planting and landscaping on our Kipuka.

In the meanwhile, our community is now virtual. Over five hundred volunteers from around the world have worked on the various projects in the Hedonisia Lava to Lotus Portfolio.

We welcome you to be a volunteer on our virtual team choosing a project that resonates with you.

The Hedonisia Lava to Lotus Web Portfolio is based on activist entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability and pleasurable activism.

Progressive or libertarian graphic designers, artists, or animators are welcome to volunteer on our various projects for which we need illustrations, animations, or graphics.

Please Note: You may be working with art and sex-positive, feminist, or pro-choice subject matter. If you do not wish to do so, please choose a project that reflects your sensitivities and interests.

When an artist has interest in the project they are working on they tend to enjoy their volunteer experience more. With this in mind, please choose the project you'd like to work on.

We invite you to visit the sites and see which page(s) you’d like to illustrate and then we can discuss the projects in further detail.

• Graphic Design: If you have graphic design, painting, or drawing skills Graphic design for the site includes images and web design. Photoshop experience is a plus!
• Hand Drawing or Painting: If you don’t have graphic arts experience you can still contribute with old-fashioned painting and drawing skills to create graphics for some of the methods which you can then scan and send to us.
• AI Image Generator: You may use AI image generators as well to help you with creating illustrations such as Midjourney, Bing or Dal-E.
