Job summary

The American Red Cross in Charlottesville, VA seeks a Volunteer Services Specialist to lead recruitment and engagement of volunteers in the region. You will develop broad-based recruitment strategies, screen and place volunteers, and collaborate with staff to meet regional goals while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and ≥5 years of related experience. Travel is required, and relocation is not offered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Utilize recruitment strategies to meet volunteer recruitment metrics and maintain records of leads.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with recruitment agencies and communities to build candidate pipeline.
• Evaluate and refine recruitment and engagement strategies.
• Coach volunteer teams and implement engagement and retention approaches.
• Develop volunteer needs assessments and coordinate volunteer activities and events.
• Support execution of the Event Based Volunteer plan.
