Job summary

Haven Hospice in Palatka, FL is seeking a compassionate Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train and support volunteers in our hospice program. The role focuses on matching patient and family needs with qualified volunteers, supervising volunteers, and ensuring program compliance.

Ideal candidates have healthcare exposure and nonprofit or hospice volunteer management experience, along with strong communication and organizational skills. This position follows a M-F daytime schedule in Palatka, FL.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Prior hospice and/or volunteer program management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of hospice philosophy of care.
  • Ability to organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel.
  • Skill in planning and delivering volunteer training and orientation programs.
  • Ability to assess patient and family needs for volunteer services.
  • Skill in supervising and evaluating volunteer performance.
  • Ability to coordinate support and educational meetings.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements related to hospice services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, community groups, and individuals.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to contribute to budget planning and program development.
  • Commitment to quality improvement and compliance activities.
