Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Volunteer Recruitment and Support:

• Creates meaningful volunteer experiences ensuring support, communication and impactful work for volunteers
• Works with Programs, Food Services and Community Engagement staff to determine need for volunteers and opportunities for engaging organizational support through volunteer activities
• Recruits and supports volunteers for special events and holidays
• Maintains Moveable Feast’s volunteer engagement database by
• Approving & scheduling volunteers
• Entering data & ensuring accuracy
• Communicating with volunteers & Producing reports
• Develops a recruitment plan to include marketing positions, screening potential volunteers, and placement in roles
• Coordinates, schedules, and confirms volunteer groups and individuals
• Responsible for front line customer service; greeting visitors, volunteers and guests at the main entrance.
• Determines volunteer training needs and develops and delivers volunteer orientations and training
• Communicates in a timely manner with the departments who utilize volunteers about needs, schedules and accommodations

Organizational Support for Volunteerism and Events:

• Assists the Community Engagement team with coordination and implementation of special events
• Trains staff on working with volunteers to ensure effective use and cultivation of volunteers and promote positive communication among volunteers and staff
• Works with Directors to identify staff who act as supervisors for volunteers and assists the supervisors in giving meaningful feedback and direction to volunteers
• Works with other departments to maximize volunteer opportunities
• Works with the Community Engagement Department to ensure that all volunteer recruitment materials are high quality and branded
• Assists Director of Community Engagement with administrative duties specific as needed
  
  

Other Duties:

• Represents Community Engagement Department at meetings and community events, as needed
• Supervise interns as assigned
• Adheres to all Federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, by protecting the privacy and security of all patient/client health information
• Participates in advocacy activities that support Moveable Feast’s mission and annual fundraising events.
• Participates in departmental and organizational meetings as required
• Knowledge of and adherence to Moveable Feast’s Mission and Philosophy
• Knowledge of and adherence to Moveable Feast’s Personnel Policies and Procedures

Today, our service extends to Marylanders living with heart disease, diabetes, and cancer, among other serious chronic illnesses.
