Job Title: Volunteer Coordinator (Full-time)
Location: Allentown (Operated by County of Lehigh)
Compensation:
- Starting Salary: $51,293 (annual)
Typical Examples of Work:
- Recruits, interviews, orients, and coordinates volunteers for assignments within the nursing homes, under the direction of the Life Enrichment Director.
- Ensures Cedarbrook meets state and federal regulatory standards and County Policy requirements applicable to the Volunteer program.
- Ensures proper electronic record-keeping and documentation occurs within job function to accurately track volunteer hours and other statistics applicable to the success of the program.
- Represents Cedarbrook in a positive outgoing manner in the community, always working to improve outreach in the region and expand the program.
- Works with the Life Enrichment department and interdepartmentally in a collaborative manner to ensure overall success of the program with the goal of improving the Quality of Life of our Cedarbrook residents.
- Utilizes quality assurance methodologies to identify issues or areas of opportunities and presents solutions to the Life Enrichment Director.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- At Least 1 year in Volunteer Coordination at a healthcare facility or public agency. A degree in Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Human Services, Gerontology, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field can substitute for Volunteer Coordination experience. Greater preference will be given to candidates with at least 3 years of Volunteer Coordination Experience.
- Completion of high school education (12th grade) is required. It is preferred to have completed coursework in Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Human Services, Gerontology, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field, and/or hold applicable certification in Volunteer work, Therapeutic Rection, Activities, or related subject as determined by Cedarbrook.
- Proven computer and technology skills, with at least intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, are required. Experience with electronic medical records, particularly PointClickCare, is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to collaborate with others.
- Confidence in public speaking and the ability to connect with others.
- Ability to follow processes to completion, such as recruitment, orientation, and training, to ensure that volunteers are successful and Cedarbrook remains compliant with state and federal regulations.
- Home office is at Cedarbrook Allentown under typical business hours. There are requirements to travel to Cedarbrook Fountain Hill on a periodic basis and external recruiting events on an as-needed basis, which may occasionally require candidate to work different hours for community events.
