The Volunteer Community Manager is responsible for leading our volunteer teams and helping Girl Scouts reach their fullest potential. What does a Volunteer Community Manager do?
  • Lead and support volunteer teams in assigned regions by attending virtual and in-person Service Unit meetings.
  • Build and maintain strong volunteer relationships to foster engagement, address concerns, proactively resolve challenges and elevate the Girl Scout experience.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for identification and resolution of volunteer conflict situations, using Council processes and guidelines for the management, escalation, resolution, and communication of conflict situations.
  • Promote adult volunteer recognition programs and ensure that recognition gifts are given in a timely manner.
  • Deliver leader training programs that address the needs of both new and existing volunteers.
Requirements
  • Collaborate effectively with staff and volunteers to achieve shared goals and support organizational initiatives.
  • Demonstrate strong conflict resolution skills by addressing challenges professionally
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information in accordance with organizational policies and best practices.
  • Proven ability to learn, adapt to, and effectively use new software platforms and digital tools implemented by GSME.
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, and to travel as required by position duties.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, have reliable personal transportation for business use, and be insurable under GSME’s policy.
  • Ability and willingness to perform tasks involve the ability to exert physical effort, which may include some bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 25 pounds).
  • Hours: Full-time. This position is a mix of field-based and office-based responsibilities; travel, along with evening and weekend work, is often required.
