We are seeking a dedicated Concrete Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in various tasks related to concrete work and construction projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation of concrete structures
- Perform concrete finishing and masonry work
- Operate heavy equipment as needed
- Support construction site activities
- Assist with flooring installation
- Work on stucco applications
- Help with welding tasks
Skills
To operate a volumetric concrete truck, a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is typically required. Here are common job requirements for a CDL driver operating a volumetric concrete truck:
- Valid CDL License: A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), typically a Class B or Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements (such as air brakes).
- Experience: Prior experience operating a volumetric concrete truck or other concrete mixing equipment is often preferred. General commercial truck driving experience (typically 1-2 years or more).
- Knowledge of Concrete Mixing: Understanding of concrete mixtures, proportions, and how to operate a volumetric concrete mixer. Ability to control the quantity of materials mixed and ensure the correct consistency of concrete.
- Clean Driving Record: A safe driving history with minimal violations or accidents.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift and move heavy equipment or materials (often up to 50 lbs or more). Capable of working in physically demanding conditions (e.g., standing, bending, climbing).
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of and compliance with DOT regulations and safety guidelines. Familiarity with operating heavy machinery safely, including routine truck inspections and maintenance.
- Time Management and Punctuality: Ability to manage schedules to ensure timely delivery of concrete to job sites. Strong sense of responsibility and reliability in completing tasks on time.
- Mechanical Knowledge: Basic mechanical skills for truck maintenance and repairs. Ability to troubleshoot and fix minor mechanical issues on-site.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with dispatch, job site managers, and other team members.
- Other Certifications: Depending on the location, additional certifications such as Hazardous Materials (HazMat) or Tanker Endorsements may be required.
