Job Overview

High school Lightridge, Volleyball coaching position. Season runs Fall, August - November

Roles And Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining high academic standards for all student athletes.
• Assist the athletic director and principal in hiring and/or retaining assistant coaches.
• Direct, supervise, and evaluate the performance of all assistant coaches.
• Work cooperatively with the athletic director to ensure proper insurance coverage for all athletes.
• Collaborate with other head coaches to operate a well-balanced athletic program.
• Foster appreciation for athletics, good sportsmanship, and pride among participants and spectators.
• Direct training, conditioning, and performance of the varsity team; supervise and assist assistant coaches.
• Act as a positive influence on the behavior of staff and teams.
• Be present at all varsity contests and as many JV and freshmen contests as possible; supervise athletes at invitational meets or postseason events.
• Advise the athletic director on scheduling, officials, equipment, and facility needs.
• Ensure all athletes pass medical examinations before the season.
• Organize recruitment and development of support staff like equipment managers and statisticians.
• Maintain records, statistics, news, and photographs of teams.
• Recommend athletes for varsity letters or certificates.
• Observe sub varsity practices and games.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or athletic director.

Qualifications

• Coaching or participation experience in high school or college sports.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification or enrollment in a course.
• Preferred: experience as a teacher or classified employee in Loudoun County Public Schools.
• Preferred: Virginia Teaching License or full-time classified employee status.
