Job Overview

High school Park View is seeking a Volleyball Coach for the upcoming fall season, running from August to November.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Assist in maintaining high academic standards for student athletes.
2. Support the athletic director and principal in hiring and retaining assistant coaches.
3. Supervise and evaluate assistant coaches regularly.
4. Coordinate with the athletic director to ensure proper insurance coverage for athletes.
5. Collaborate with other head coaches to operate a balanced athletic program.
6. Promote sportsmanship, pride, and appreciation of athletics among participants and spectators.
7. Oversee training, conditioning, and performance of the varsity team and assist assistant coaches.
8. Be a positive influence on the athletic staff and teams.
9. Attend all varsity contests and as many junior varsity and freshmen contests as possible, including postseason events.
10. Assist in preparing schedules for the sport.
11. Advise on officiating and equipment needs.
12. Maintain athletic facilities and equipment.
13. Ensure athletes meet eligibility and medical requirements.
14. Encourage student participation and develop support staff for teams.
15. Keep records, statistics, and media related to the teams.
16. Recommend athletes for varsity letters and other recognitions.
17. Observe sub varsity practices and games.
18. Perform additional duties as assigned by the principal or athletic director.

Qualifications

1. Experience in coaching or participating in volleyball at high school or college level.
2. CPR and First Aid certification or enrollment in such courses.
3. Preferred experience as a teacher or classified employee in Loudoun County Public Schools.
4. Preferred Virginia Teaching License or full-time classified employment in Loudoun County Public Schools.
