Job summary

Sacred Heart Schools is seeking organized volleyball coaches for our 5th–8th grade girls program in Chicago. This seasonal, part-time role includes leading practices and events with two practices per week and weekday games, with a stipend for head and assistant coaches.

Practices are scheduled M/W and Tu/Th, and games occur on weeknights at various gyms on the north side. This role requires strong communication and a passion for youth sports coaching.

Volleyball Coach Fall 2026

Sacred Heart Schools is seeking organized and responsible Coaches for our Volleyball Program (5-8th girls).

Founded in Chicago in 1876, Sacred Heart Schools at Sheridan Road (Hardey Preparatory for Boys and Academy of the Sacred Heart for Girls) are independent, Catholic, single-gender elementary schools committed to academic excellence within the context of a Christian, faith-based community. The educational mission is deeply rooted in the 200-year tradition of the Society of the Sacred Heart and shared with the Network of Sacred Heart Schools located in 30 countries, including 25 schools in the United States and Canada. The essence of this tradition is the total development of each child: spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional and physical. Our girls and boys are taught in single-gender classrooms, but follow a similar curriculum and share in many activities. With a total enrollment of approximately 515 students, the schools are organized into three academic divisions each led by a division head.

Position Description:

• Practices are twice a week plus games. Coaches are expected to attend and lead all practices and events. This is a seasonal, part time position with a stipend for both head and assistant coaches.
• Games are weeknights at various gyms on the north side; no weekend commitments.
• Practice slots are: M/W either 3:45-5:15 or 5:15-6:45, Tu/Th 3:45-5 or 5-6:15 and are dependent on grade level

Pay Range:

Based on level of experience
Assistant Coaches $600 - $1000
Head Coach $900 - $1400
