Job summary

Food Authority, INC in Melville, NY is seeking a dedicated warehouse picker to accurately assemble orders using a Vocollect Voice headset, maintain product integrity, and ensure safe pallet stacking for outbound transport. The role requires lifting 50/80 pounds regularly, working in cooler and freezer environments, and collaborating across departments to uphold food safety standards.

Initial pay is $18.75 per hour during training, with pay dependent on productivity and volume.

Qualifications

• Related work experience in distribution and warehousing food manufacturing environment preferred.
• Work independently.
• Experience with Vocollect Voice Pick a plus.
• Ability to operate Warehouse Equipment, electric pallet, pallet rider and/or forklift a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand purchase orders via Vocollect headset in English.
• Accurately count and assemble boxes according to purchase orders; maintain balanced pallet loads.
• Maintain product integrity and temperature controls.
• Follow FIFO to ensure fair distribution of work.
• Stack pallets according to safety specs for outbound transportation.
• Keep a clean, organized work environment and optimize space utilization.
• Assist in other departments as needed.
