Job summary

Food Authority, INC is hiring for a pay-by-piece warehouse picker role based in Melville, NY. The role uses a Vocollect Voice headset to select and assemble orders, ensuring product integrity and safe pallet stacking for outbound transport.

Training starts at $18.75 per hour, with pay dependent on productivity after training. The position requires lifting up to 50/80 pounds, working across departments to maintain food safety standards, and the ability to operate pallet equipment including

Qualifications

• Related work experience in distribution and warehousing food manufacturing environment preferred.
• Work independently.
• Experience with Vocollect Voice Pick a plus.
• Ability to operate Warehouse Equipment, electric pallet, pallet rider and/or forklift a plus.
• Ability to follow safety protocols.
• Able to lift 50/80 pounds regularly.
• Comfortable working in cooler and freezer environments.

Responsibilities

• Understand purchase orders through Vocollect Voice select headset in English.
• Accurately count and assemble boxes according to purchase orders - maintain balanced pallet loads.
• Maintain product integrity and temperature controls.
• Collaborate with all departments to uphold Safe Quality Food standards.
• Organize work efficiently while picking orders.
• Follow safety protocols at all times.
• Stack pallets according to safety specifications for outbound transportation.
• Keep a clean and safe workspace and optimize space utilization.
