Job summary

TradeSTAR, Inc. in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Level I Voice/Data Technician to install and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling on commercial projects. You will pull, route, terminate Cat5e/Cat6, and assist with fiber installations while following prints and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Approximately 6 months to 2 years of Voice/Data or structured cabling experience.
• Experience pulling and installing Cat5e or Cat6 cable.
• Familiarity with terminating workstation outlets.
• Basic knowledge of commercial cable support methods.
• Familiarity with structured cabling standards and installation practices.
• Basic experience with cable testing equipment.
• Fiber-optic cabling exposure is a plus.
• Ability to use common low-voltage hand tools.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced technicians.
• Dependable, safety-minded and a team player with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Pull, route, label, and dress Cat5e and Cat6 cabling.
• Assist with pulling and routing fiber-optic cable.
• Install J-hooks, support rings, slings, cable tray, and ladder rack.
• Terminate workstation outlets and jacks.
• Perform basic 110-style terminations.
• Assist with MDF and IDF buildouts.
• Follow prints and established cable pathways.
• Use basic cable testing equipment.
• Maintain clean and professional cable installations.
• Work alongside experienced technicians and leads to complete commercial projects safely and efficiently.

TradeSTAR is seeking Level I Voice/Data Technicians for an opportunity with an established low-voltage contractor in the San Antonio area. If you have hands-on commercial structured cabling experience and are ready to keep building your skills, this is a great opportunity to gain more experience with copper, fiber, pathways, terminations, and testing while working alongside experienced technicians.

What You ll Do

• Pull, route, label, and dress Cat5e and Cat6 cabling
