Job summary

GEO Group in the United States is seeking a Vocational Instructor to provide classroom instruction and hands-on skills to inmates. The focus is to develop technical and academic learning environments that help participants maximize their potential and prepare for reentry.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED (Bachelor's preferred) and, if possible, a Florida Educator’s certificate or eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, or a Bachelor's with teaching experience.
• Bachelor's degree plus two years teaching experience per ad.
• Possess or be eligible for a Florida Educator’s certificate within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• The Vocational Instructor delivers classroom instruction and practical exercises to inmates.
• Maintains and files attendance, testing, and progress records.
• Develops lesson plans addressing educational needs of inmates.
• Administers and scores examinations and interprets proficiency indicators.
• Counsels students on performance and behavior.
