Volvo Group in Shippensburg, PA, is seeking a Vocational Trainee in Machining for Spring 2027. This temporary student role involves hands-on work with lathes, milling machines, and grinders, following blueprints and specifications.

You must be enrolled in a Machining program with at least a 2.5 GPA and be at least 17 years old. The position offers housing assistance where applicable and robust training opportunities within Volvo Group.

• Review electronic or written blueprints or specifications.

• Adjust cutting speed to compensate for vibrations.
• Monitor accuracy of cuts.

The Vocational Trainee role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment, and to support/promote the student's career goals through contact with professionals in their field of study. The vocational trainee experience enables students to participate in professional activities for Volvo Group by working on important and innovative projects. Vocational Trainee positions are structured learning experiences where students and our full-time professionals work together on projects within their selected organization. This allows students to integrate knowledge and skills in a manner that is mutually beneficial to the student and Volvo Construction Equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders to produce metal parts.
