We are hiring for:

Vocational Rehabilitation Employment Specialist (Rocky Mount/Wilson)

Type: Regular

This position is for the Rocky Mount and Wilson areas.

Provides support for individuals and groups with disabilities in various community-based work settings, supporting independence in work tasks and environments, including developing natural supports. Assists individuals in identifying and communicating their needs for services and supports. Implements services to meet vocational goals as outlined in the Individual Plan of Employment (IPE). Relies on supervision from the Vocational Program Manager. Meets basic job requirements, including achieving two job placement milestones per month or twenty-four per year.

Education, Licensure, and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working with individuals with IDD preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift at least 15 lbs.
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as squatting, kneeling, crawling, crouching, climbing, and stooping.
  • Proficiency in CPR, working on hands and knees, bending, standing, and lifting.
  • Visual and auditory capabilities to perform job functions effectively.
Position Details

This role involves attending the supported individual's job, including training and stabilization for at least 90 days or longer. Flexibility and willingness to work long hours are essential.

Successful candidates are excellent motivators and team players.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
  • CPR, First Aid, NCI, or role-specific certifications are a plus

  • Drug test
  • Verification of education and credentials
  • References and employment history
  • Driving record and vehicle insurance, if transportation is part of the job
