Job summary

Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts is seeking an Assistant Program Director for the Vocational Nursing Program at the San Jose Campus. This is an on-campus, full-time role with leadership over curriculum implementation and clinical site coordination.

The ideal candidate holds a CA RN license, a Master’s degree in nursing/education/administration, and several years of direct patient care experience, with preferred school-management exposure and collaboration with clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Current and unencumbered RN license in CA
• Three years continuous RN experience providing direct patient care or equivalent
• Master's or higher degree including coursework in nursing, education, or administration
• Preferred knowledge of the educational process at other institutions
• Preferred management experience in a school environment
• Experience interfacing with clinical/hospital personnel at Director/Department Head level

Responsibilities

• Manage daily academic implementation of the nursing curriculum
• Perform instructional responsibilities under supervision of Campus Director and Director of Nursing
• Supervise and coordinate clinical sites and schedules

Basic Function

The Assistant Program Director of the Vocational Nursing Program is responsible for the management of daily academic implementation of the nursing curriculum. This position includes instructional responsibilities and functions under the supervision of the Campus Director and Director of Nursing. Responsible for supervision and coordination of clinical sites and schedules.

Qualifications

• Current and unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the state of California
• Three years continuous experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care; or equivalent experience and/or education, as determined by the board
• A master's or higher degree from an accredited college or university that includes course work in nursing, education, or administration
• Preferred knowledge of the educational process at other institutions
• Preferred management work experience in a school environment
• Working knowledge or experience interfacing with clinical and hospital personnel (Director or Department Head levels)
