Position Summary

The Employment Specialist provides effective supported employment to assist individuals in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment that results in self-sufficiency and increased independence. This role establishes and maintains quality employer partnerships, ensuring high-quality customer service with flexibility and creativity. Responsibilities include conducting pre-vocational evaluations, maintaining documentation, and fostering an environment of excellence, innovation, and positive morale. The role involves compliance with state, federal, county, and agency regulations, building community among staff, families, and business partners, and upholding the agency's core values of Hospitality, Respect, Quality, Spirituality, and Responsibility while maintaining confidentiality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Develop employment opportunities and assist clients with transitioning to community-based employment.
  2. Handle correspondence with agencies, clients, families, vendors, and employers efficiently.
  3. Conduct assessments to identify skills and career interests.
  4. Assist with resume preparation, job applications, interview skills, and workplace behavior.
  5. Manage job task analysis and transportation options.
  6. Develop and identify job opportunities through employer contact.
  7. Provide job coaching and act as a liaison among stakeholders.
  8. Monitor work behaviors and maintain proper documentation.
  9. Transport clients as needed during development and coaching.
  10. Follow up with employers and clients for feedback and support.
  11. Ensure compliance with CARF, DOL, Ticket to Work, DVRS standards, and related guidelines.
  12. Complete reports and participate in cross-training and team meetings.
  13. Participate in safety, emergency, and behavior management protocols.
  14. Develop professional skills and promote teamwork.
  15. Work flexible hours as required.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field.
  • Experience with the Social Security Ticket to Work Program.
  • Certified Work Incentive Counselor preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and perform job functions effectively.
