Job Description

This is a full-time, remote position. The candidate must be located in either central or Joliet, Illinois, due to daily local travel (40%) for in-person patient appointments.

  • Coordinate vocational training programs to help injured workers return to work efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Conduct vocational assessments, interviews, and tests to establish vocational goals based on medical information and releases.
  • Collaborate with physicians and therapists to assess physical and mental capabilities, and advise on vocational alternatives or retraining if needed.
  • Research and coordinate participation in training and pain management programs, monitoring progress throughout.
  • Work with employers and employment agencies to modify job duties based on medical limitations and assessments.
  • Perform job analyses to ensure suitability before placement, obtaining physician approval when necessary.
  • Provide job search skills training, including application processes, job market insights, and interview techniques.
  • Counsel claimants on managing anxiety and addressing employer/employee attitudes.
  • Arrange and escort injured workers to appointments, follow up on placements, and evaluate performance. May provide testimony in litigated cases.
  • Stay informed about the current job market to identify alternative placements.
  • Document case activities comprehensively, prepare evaluation reports, and maintain case files.
  • Maintain contact with all parties involved to monitor case progress and facilitate communication.
  • Prepare monthly case inventories and insurance reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate case management with attorneys, insurance carriers, physicians, employers, and claimants as the main liaison.
Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in vocational evaluation, special education, behavioral psychology, or related field; Master’s or advanced study preferred.
  • Certifications such as CRC, CCM, CDMS, LRC, or CVE; certification preferred or required by state law.
  • Experience in workers’ compensation industry preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, with basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook), and excellent communication skills.
  • Reliable internet and transportation required for local travel to in-person appointments.
