Job summary

Unitek College Of Nursing is seeking an experienced nursing instructor to deliver courses and manage clinical rotations on-site in California. The role involves reviewing syllabi, maintaining student records, and collaborating with faculty and staff to ensure high-quality instruction.

The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse with current licensure, possess a nursing degree, and meet Board of Vocational Nursing faculty requirements.

Qualifications

• RN or LVN licensure in the state you will teach.
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
• Must meet Board of Vocational Nursing faculty requirements.
• ATI Certification within 30 days of hire (offered by Unitek).
• Current immunizations and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses and clinical rotations, including days/evenings/weekends.
• Review and revise syllabi and instructional guidelines; ensure licensure CE hours are maintained.
• Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and clinical credentials.
• Submit program reports to the Director in a timely manner.
• Collaborate on on-site teaching with students, faculty, and staff.

Job Description

• Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies / techniques in teaching.
• Demonstrate or willing to acquire skills for utilizing online/active learning activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning.
• Assist with reviewing and revising the syllabus for specific courses within the program and instructional guidelines.
• Submit required program reports and forms to the Director of the program in a timely manner.
• Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations.
• Maintains student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms and assists with program data collection that meets set due dates and deadlines.
• Assists with updating and maintaining student files as related to clinical requirements, immunizations and educational requirements.
• Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to program needs
• Teaches both lecture content and clinical rotations (clinical rotations can be days, and/or evenings, on weekdays and/or weekends).
• Participate in professional development; maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure, takes responsibility for staying current with college updates.
• Actively participates in committees as assigned, based on availability, taking into consideration teaching responsibilities as a priority.
• Keeping classes, including clinicals in session for the scheduled hours.
• Regular, in-person attendance up to 5 days per week on campus/on site is an essential function of this position.
• This role requires on-site collaboration with students, faculty, and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current unencumbered licensure inthe state in which you are applying to teach.
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
• Able to meet the faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
• Experience which demonstrates: Current knowledge of nursing practice; ability tomentor students in classroom, lab and clinical settings; ability to work independently without close supervision; broad knowledge of nursing sciences; successful handling of day-to-day operations in the nursing lab; proficient, strong communications skills, verbal and written; current knowledge/experience in clinical setting.
• Must obtain ATI, Assessment Technology Institute Certification within 30 days of hire (offered by Unitek).
• Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification.

Hourly rate from: $48.00 - $60.00

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must meet the requirements set by the board of nursing below:

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with currentunencumbered licensure in the state in which you are applying to teach
• You must meet one of the following requirements set by the board of vocational nursing:
  • 3+ years of bedside experiencewith a minimum of a BSN degree,OR
  • 6+ years of bedside experiencewith a minimum of an Associates Degree
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
• Able to meet the faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
