Job summary

Unitek Learning is seeking a Nursing instructor to teach nursing courses and supervise clinical rotations on-site in California. The role involves updating syllabi, maintaining student records, and ensuring compliance with nursing standards.

Strong mentoring skills and current RN/LVN licensure are essential. The position requires teaching across multiple times and locations, with on-site collaboration with students and faculty.

Qualifications

• Active nursing licensure in the state of teaching.
• Ability to mentor students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings.
• Must maintain current immunizations and BLS.
• Must obtain ATI Certification within 30 days of hire (Unitek provision).
• Experience with nursing education and clinical operations.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses and clinical rotations (days/evenings/weekends).
• Review and revise syllabus and instructional guidelines.
• Submit program reports to the Director on time.
• Maintain student attendance, grades, and skills check-offs.
• Keep up with nursing technologies and safety regulations.
• Attend committees as assigned and collaborate on campus.
• Maintain regular on-site presence up to 5 days per week.

Job Description

• Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies / techniques in teaching.
• Demonstrate or willing to acquire skills for utilizing online/active learning activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning.
• Assist with reviewing and revising the syllabus for specific courses within the program and instructional guidelines.
• Submit required program reports and forms to the Director of the program in a timely manner.
• Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations.
• Maintains student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms and assists with program data collection that meets set due dates and deadlines.
• Assists with updating and maintaining student files as related to clinical requirements, immunizations and educational requirements.
• Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to program needs
• Teaches both lecture content and clinical rotations (clinical rotations can be days, and/or evenings, on weekdays and/or weekends).
• Participate in professional development; maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure, takes responsibility for staying current with college updates.
• Actively participates in committees as assigned, based on availability, taking into consideration teaching responsibilities as a priority.
• Regular, in-person attendance up to 5 days per week on campus/on site is an essential function of this position.
• This role requires on-site collaboration with students, faculty, and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current unencumbered licensure in the state in which you are applying to teach.
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
• Able to meet the faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
• Experience which demonstrates: Current knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor students in classroom, lab and clinical settings; ability to work independently without close supervision; broad knowledge of nursing sciences; successful handling of day-to-day operations in the nursing lab; proficient, strong communications skills verbal and written; current knowledge/experience in clinical setting.
• Must obtain ATI, Assessment Technology Institute Certification within 30 days of hire (offered by Unitek).
• Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification.

Salary: 95k - 110k

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current unencumbered licensure in the state in which you are applying to teach
• You must meet one of the following requirements set by the board of vocational nursing:
  • 3+ years of bedside experience with a minimum of a BSN degree, OR
  • 6+ years of bedside experience with a minimum of an Associates Degree
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
• Able to meet the faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
• Experience which demonstrates: Current knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor students in classroom, lab and clinical settings; ability to work independently without close supervision; broad knowledge of nursing sciences; successful handling of day-to-day operations in the nursing lab; proficient, strong communications skills, verbal and written; current knowledge/experience in clinical setting.
• Must obtain ATI, Assessment Technology Institute Certification within 30 days of hire (offered by Unitek).
