Job summary

DCI Solutions in Vienna, VA seeks a VMware Operations Specialist to ensure the ongoing performance and security of VMware environments. You will administer and support vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, clusters, datastores, VMs, and templates, and lead changes, patches, upgrades, and migrations.

The role involves troubleshooting incidents across compute, storage, and networking, performing root-cause analysis, and coordinating with storage and network teams to resolve latency and connectivity issues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on virtualization experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience supporting VMware environments in a production operations role.
• Strong knowledge of vSphere, vCenter, vMotion, ESXi, clusters, HA and DRS.
• Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure incidents across compute, storage, networking and OS.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a VMware Operations Specialist.
• Administer and support VMware environments, including vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, clusters, datastores, VMs, templates.
• Plan and execute changes: patches, upgrades, migrations.
• Troubleshoot incidents: availability, performance, capacity, connectivity, VM issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis and participate in problem management.
• Coordinate with storage and network teams on latency and connectivity issues.
• Validate backups, restores, replication and DR activities.
• Maintain operational documentation and participate in on-call rotations.
