Job summary

Realign Llc in Framingham, Massachusetts seeks an experienced VMware Administrator to design, deploy, and operate the organization's virtualization estate.

You will own end-to-end uptime, performance tuning, security hardening, and DR readiness, collaborating with Storage, Network, and Application teams.

Qualifications

  • Administer and maintain enterprise VMware platforms (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vSAN).
  • Design, install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot VMware across prod, DR, and test environments.
  • Lead VMware cluster management activities including host deployment, capacity planning, and hardware refreshes.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of ESXi hosts, VMs, storage, networking, HA, DRS, vMotion and vSAN issues.
  • Manage patching, upgrades, security hardening, and vulnerability remediation with minimal business disruption.
  • Configure and maintain backup, recovery, replication, snapshots and DR for virtualized workloads.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, audit requirements and governance policies.
  • Monitor performance, analyze trends, identify risks, and implement proactive improvements.
  • Perform root cause analysis for critical incidents and drive continuous service improvements.
  • Support modernization initiatives including version upgrades, capacity optimization, and cloud integration.

Job Description
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
  • Administer, maintain, monitor, and support enterprise VMware virtualization platforms, including vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, and related ecosystem components.
  • Design, install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot VMware infrastructure across production, DR, and test environments.
  • Lead VMware cluster management activities, including host deployment, lifecycle management, capacity planning, and hardware refresh initiatives.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of ESXi hosts, virtual machines, storage, networking, HA, DRS, vMotion, and vSAN-related issues.
  • Manage VMware patching, upgrades, security hardening, and vulnerability remediation activities while ensuring minimal business disruption.
  • Configure and maintain backup, recovery, replication, snapshot, and disaster recovery solutions for virtualized workloads.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security standards, audit requirements, and infrastructure governance policies.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance, analyze trends, identify risks, and implement proactive improvements to enhance platform stability and efficiency.
  • Perform root cause analysis for critical incidents, develop preventive measures, and drive continuous service improvements.
  • Support infrastructure modernization initiatives, including VMware version upgrades, capacity optimization, workload migrations, and cloud integration projects.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Storage, Backup, Network, Security, Server, and Application teams to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
  • VMware administration responsible for the design, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and operational support of enterprise VMware environments.
